Security Officer, Part-Time
We are seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment at our marine terminal. This position is scheduled on an as-needed basis when ships are in port or additional security coverage is required.

Responsibilities
- Monitor access at the marine terminal gate or onboard vessels, checking Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) and ensuring compliance with federal maritime security regulations.
- Stay alert and observant while monitoring pedestrian and vehicle traffic, ensuring that only authorized individuals and activities are allowed.
- Remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented when issues arise.
- Document incidents thoroughly and complete detailed reports following each shift.

Requirements
- One year of security experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (or ability to obtain one)
- Flexibility to work an on-call, variable schedule including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions
- Ability to safely navigate uneven, slippery, or wet surfaces
Strong communication and customer service skills, dependability, professionalism, sound judgment in high-pressure situations, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential.
Pay
$23.25 - $25.25/hour based on experience. Shift differential pay applies from 10:00 pm – 6:00 am, and holiday shifts are paid at a premium rate.
Schedule
This is an on-call, as-needed position based on vessel schedules and operational needs. Available shifts include:
- 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
- 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
- 11:00 pm – 7:00 am
