Security Officer Part Time Transitional Shelter

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, and staff. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies in a shelter housing environment.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building common areas, entrances, exits, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and document visitor activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in required reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, residents, and emergency responders while maintaining a respectful and supportive presence.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Friday: 07:30 AM - 03:30 PM
• Saturday: 03:30 PM - 11:30 PM
