About the role
As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening people and items, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and support a welcoming experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Screen persons and belongings using designated screening equipment and established procedures; identify prohibited or unauthorized items and report findings to appropriate personnel.
- Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry in accordance with site requirements; direct visitors to appropriate check-in or access points.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
- Maintain accurate screening-related logs, incident reports, and records while helping to deter unauthorized access and prohibited items from entering the facility.
Requirements
- Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
