Security Officer Part Time School Patrol

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will communicate professionally, support a welcoming environment, and document activity using computer or tablet tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities appropriate for an educational campus.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to campus areas, observe and report suspicious activity, and assist with visitor direction in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and security-related observations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
