About the role

As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Tour in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and help to enforce entry procedures for employees, contractors, and visitors in a technology-focused location.
  • Support day-to-day operations by communicating with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, maintenance concerns, and other security-related matters.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Skills

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina for patrolling.
  • Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
