About the role

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced for the Newton, MS site. This position offers reliable, consistent hours at an assigned location with the flexibility to earn additional income by picking up extra shifts through the “Claim‑A‑Shift” program. The role is ideal for candidates looking for part‑time employment with the option to scale up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, or to scale back as needed.

Pay

$16.25 per hour

Schedule

Daytime – Thursday 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM (fixed “anchor” shift). A six‑month commitment to the designated site and weekly shift is required. Additional shifts may be picked up via the scheduling platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
• Adapt to varying working environments and conditions that may differ by client site.

Requirements

• X‑Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Limited on‑site facilities (e.g., portable toilets, rustic guard shacks) at this location.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
