Security Officer Part Time Loss Prevention Patrol

About the role

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in retail/mall environments. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support loss-prevention efforts. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you using our Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and retail location personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales areas, common areas, entrances, loading zones, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within the location; report unusual conditions, policy violations, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site management.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation, drug screen, and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
