About the role
This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Licensed Patrol in New York, NY, you’ll have a fixed base schedule with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with income stability and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

$17.00 / hour

- Thursday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
- Saturday: 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM
- Sunday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
How this role works
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential and shelter areas, including building interiors, entrances, common areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report unauthorized activity or unusual conditions to site leadership and/or emergency personnel.
- Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity in accordance with site procedures, and communicate relevant information to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Qualifications
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
