About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Licensed Patrol in New York, NY, you’ll have a fixed base schedule with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with income stability and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

$17.00 / hour

Schedule

  • Thursday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
  • Saturday: 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM
  • Sunday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM

How this role works

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential and shelter areas, including building interiors, entrances, common areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report unauthorized activity or unusual conditions to site leadership and/or emergency personnel.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity in accordance with site procedures, and communicate relevant information to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
