Security Officer Part Time Housing Patrol

About the role
As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will work collaboratively with site personnel while demonstrating the agility, reliability, innovation, care, teamwork, and integrity that define Allied Universal.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and other members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at a government human services location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site policies, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
- Maintain a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity while treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and appropriate customer service.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
