Security Officer Part Time Ferry Terminal

As a Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel at a public ferry transportation location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of ferry terminals, boarding areas, waiting areas, access points, and surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and verify authorized entry in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Complete accurate reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate observations and incidents to supervisors and designated site contacts.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour
