As an Access Control Officer at a residential community, you will help create a welcoming environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, and assisting residents and visitors with professionalism. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with the community. What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and vendor authorization, issue access credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor and vehicle records.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, access-related issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and support site rules.
- Communicate professionally with residents, guests, management, and emergency responders while documenting incidents and access-control activities.
Minimum Requirements
- A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
