This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Emergency Readiness in Birmingham, AL, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

How This Role Works

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and access-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management in accordance with site-specific policies and healthcare privacy requirements.
  • Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$19.00 / Hour

Schedule

  • Day shift: Tuesday, 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
