Security Officer Part Time day shift

About the role

As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location in Indianapolis, IN, you will monitor access points, screen people and/or items, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps deter security-related incidents. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen personnel, visitors, and permitted items entering designated areas in accordance with site procedures and access requirements.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and shipping-related documentation as assigned, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building entrances, loading areas, and the perimeter, and document observations and incidents.

Requirements

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$17.22 / hour

• Daytime
• Wednesday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Thursday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
