Security Officer Part Time Customer Service

About the role

As a Part-Time Security Officer at a retail location in Charleston, SC, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. You will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as retail and malls, with flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore additional shifts via the Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and/or store personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas, to help identify unusual activity and help deter theft or unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrols, and other security-related observations accurately and completely in accordance with site procedures.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Part-time, daytime: Monday and Tuesday, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
