Security Officer Part Time

About the Role

This position is responsible for the physical security of the facility, including assignments to walking or stationary posts. The role involves inspection and control of persons and vehicles entering or leaving the facility.

Responsibilities

• Check identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and team members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facility.
• Inspect all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, and lunchboxes.
• Write investigative reports.
• Conduct preliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed.
• Perform roving or walking patrols through plant areas to check physical facility security.
• Manage log truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspect all motor vehicles driven into the plant.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a background check.
• Ability to work in both hot and cold temperatures, depending on outside climate.
• Must be able to work independently under supervision and maintain a positive work ethic.

Qualifications

• Prefer high school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Investigative skills helpful but not mandatory.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively under stressful situations.

Schedule

This is a part-time position with no more than 30 hours per week. Specific days and hours will be discussed during the interview.
