Security Officer Part- Time

About the Role

The Logan Hotel in Logan Square, Philadelphia, blends lively urban energy with curated luxury. As a member of our security team, you will ensure the safety and security of the hotel's assets, guests, and employees by patrolling the property, responding to emergencies, and addressing guest concerns with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property, including outside parking lots, on a regular basis.
• Respond to guest complaints, concerns, and security incidents with a sense of urgency and investigate to remedy situations.
• Identify, handle, and report unusual circumstances, safety violations, theft, destruction, or suspicious persons; escort undesirable individuals off the property when necessary.
• Document security incidents, theft, accidents, and safety violations in a daily log and complete necessary forms for property loss or personal injury.
• Maintain familiarity with all hotel disaster and emergency policies, procedures, and regulations; respond immediately to alarms or calls for help, determine the course of action, notify authorities, and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
• Conduct investigations of security incidents.
• Enforce the hotel's 'No Solicitation Policy'.
• Communicate effectively via portable radio and maintain awareness of surroundings for safety inspections.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years of prior experience in loss prevention or security.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to recognize signs of drug and alcohol abuse.
• Proficiency in using a portable radio; second language may be required.
• Excellent hearing, vision, speech, comprehension, and literacy skills for effective communication and report completion.

Physical Demands

• Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying may be required, including carrying people or equipment in emergencies.
• Bending or kneeling necessary for administering CPR and First Aid.
• Mobility required 100% of the time for responding to emergencies and patrolling the building.
• Continuous standing, with no extended periods in one place.
• Use of stairs in responding to fire alarms; no elevator access.
• No driving required.

Work Environment

• Work inside 85% of the shift and outside 15% of the shift.
• Exposure to abnormal temperatures: up to 110 degrees in summer and as low as -10 degrees in winter.
