Security Officer Part Time Armed Guard

As a Security Officer Part Time Armed Guard in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting supervisors, public agencies, and/or first responders when needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, platforms, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and high-traffic public spaces, checking credentials and/or access permissions while documenting unusual activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns.
• Assist with crowd management, public assistance, and/or direction during routine operations, service disruptions, special events, and/or emergency conditions while following post orders and reporting protocols.

Requirements

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a background investigation and drug screen.

Skills

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies.
• Knowledge of security procedures and site-specific policies.
• Ability to conduct thorough patrols and document findings.
