Security Officer Part Time Afternoon

About the role

As an Access Control Officer in a retail location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and maintain accurate visitor records. Your visible presence and professional communication will help support a welcoming environment and help deter security-related incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the retail location, including checking credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized personnel, vendors, and deliveries to appropriate areas.
• Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, exits, sales areas, stockrooms, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate activity reports and communicate relevant observations, incidents, and access-related issues to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
