Security Officer Part Time Access Authorization Specialist

As a Part‑Time Security Officer / Access Authorization Specialist in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients across a range of industries while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorizations, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access‑related logs and records.
• Respond to access‑control incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel and follow site procedures.
• Help deter unauthorized entry by observing activity at designated entry and exit points and reporting suspicious or unusual conditions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned construction areas, access points, and the perimeter; adapt to varying working environments and conditions.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 + years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements required by state or local regulations (may be required prior to employment).
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$27.14 per hour.

• Monday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Tuesday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
