Security Officer (Overnight)

About the role

As an Overnight Security Officer at Nemacolin's luxury resort, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our guests, staff, and property during the night shift. You will maintain a visible presence throughout the resort, respond to incidents, and uphold the highest standards of guest service and professionalism in line with our brand values.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of all guests, associates, and resort assets through proactive patrols and surveillance.
• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the resort premises, including guest areas, back-of-house, and perimeter zones.
• Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and other security-related incidents. Provide first aid or CPR if certified and necessary.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas. Verify identification and credentials of visitors, contractors, and staff as required.
• Accurately document incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports. Maintain logs and records in accordance with resort policies.
• Provide exceptional guest service by assisting with directions, lost and found, and general inquiries while maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor.
• Operate and monitor CCTV systems and other security technology to detect and respond to suspicious activity.
• Enforce resort policies and procedures, including fire safety, emergency evacuation, and health and safety regulations.
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering) to ensure a seamless and secure guest experience.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in security, preferably in a luxury hospitality or resort environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Must complete and pass a hospitality security officer certification program within 60 days.
• Must pass a physical fitness evaluation prior to starting employment (standards are available upon request).
• PA Act 235 armed agent certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Additional security or hospitality training is a plus.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in security, preferably in a luxury hospitality or resort environment.

Pay

The hourly pay rate for this position is $X per hour, with a $1 shift differential added during the overnight shift from 10pm to 6:30am.
