About the role
Formulates, develops, and coordinates all safety and loss control functions of the organization. Designs and directs a program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards through safety-training of all managers, planned inspections, skill training, first-aid care, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, new employee indoctrination, physical protection, planned job observation, rules and practices, job analysis/procedures, disposal procedures, and protective equipment.
Responsibilities
Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies and identifies causes of past accidents. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks and leading and directing the work of others.
Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. The role requires familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field, as well as a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
