Security Officer - Morning Shift

About the role

As a Security Officer Patrol Specialist in Bluffton, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming atmosphere through strong communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the store, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and support a professional location environment.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report policy violations, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior in accordance with site expectations.
• Support retail operations by assisting with closing procedures, monitoring high-traffic areas, and providing a visible presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity and/or disruptions.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
