What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking lots, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Maintain access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior, and assist with directing individuals in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus personnel and emergency responders when needed.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrol observations, and other security-related events.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- This is primarily a driving post.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
