About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with exceptional service and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and reporting of security-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including hallways, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter access points, to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to designated areas and help verify that only authorized individuals enter restricted spaces, while documenting observations and/or unusual activity according to site procedures.
  • Support a professional healthcare environment by communicating clearly with staff and visitors, providing directions when needed, and reporting maintenance, access control, and/or security-related issues.

Requirements

  • Must be able to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Must be willing to work in a hospital environment that includes morgue access.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals when required in a hospital setting.
  • Must have 2 or more years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
