Security Officer Licensed Patrol

About the role
As an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, observe and report concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will help create a secure, welcoming environment while contributing to a caring culture built on agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and community members by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response protocols at a government education location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, contacting designated personnel and/or emergency services when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter zones to identify and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
- Monitor access points and observe activity to help deter unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, and other disruptive conduct.
- Document patrol activity, incidents, and security-related observations in clear, accurate reports and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Qualifications
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Pay
$22.12 - $23.12 / hour
Schedule
- Position Type: Full Time
- Day shift: 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM, Monday through Friday
