Security Officer Licensed Armed Patrol

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public officials as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and screen authorized entry in accordance with post orders, assisting with visitor direction, credential checks, and/or restricted area access control.
• Support emergency situations such as evacuations, medical calls, and/or facility disruptions by following established protocols and coordinating with first responders and designated personnel.

Requirements

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Skills

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to respond calmly to emergencies.
• Knowledge of security procedures and site-specific policies.
• Ability to conduct random armed patrols.
• Ability to monitor access points and screen authorized entry.
• Knowledge of emergency response protocols.
