About the role
The Security Officer (Level III) at Dollywood Parks & Resorts is responsible for protecting people and property, maintaining a peaceful and safe atmosphere, and enforcing security procedures. The role involves assisting with wild animal control, guest assistance, transport of funds, crowd control, and responding to emergencies. The ideal candidate should embody the company's core values and be able to reflect the Dollywood Company culture.
Responsibilities
- Aid in wild animal control and monitoring
- Assist guests and hosts with vehicle problems
- Transport and escort guests and hosts
- Support the Safety-First Aid Department
- Control park access and manage traffic flow
- Provide dignitary protection services
- Respond to calls for service such as shoplifting, burglary, and theft
- Take possession of lost property and return it to Lost & Found
- Patrol buildings and parking lots
- Monitor security systems and respond to alarms
- Control access to company property
- Assist with lost guest calls
- Enforce company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Able to cope with situations firmly, courteously, and tactfully
- At least one year of experience in a similar role, with preference for law enforcement or security experience
- State certification as a Security Officer and private protection services license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass a first responder course and apply its material
- Pass background checks, including criminal history, credit check, and motor vehicle record check
- Pass a physical examination by a licensed physician
- Pass a pre-hire drug screen and random or for cause drug screens
- Meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 100 lbs and working in varying weather conditions
- Pass a drug test
