This position supervises and trains security officers while performing advanced security functions and guest services for Golden Nugget/Landry’s Inc. The role requires a high level of professional, personalized guest service aligned with the company’s K.E.E.P. core values: Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and train new security employees.
- Assist management with administrative and supervisory duties, including during emergency situations.
- Provide training to other security department members and company staff.
- Supervise Security Officers.
- Maintain organizational skills and advanced knowledge of security operations.
Requirements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English, and articulate.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently, and cohesively while producing quality results.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and line-level employees.
- Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents in English and respond to inquiries from employees or guests.
- Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to various situations and react rationally under high stress while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Working knowledge of company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of state and local laws and their application.
- Proficiency in using security equipment such as two-way radios and handcuffs.
- Must successfully complete American Red Cross or equivalent CPR certification.
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years.
- Must obtain a gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in military, law enforcement, gaming security, or related security disciplines within a hotel/casino preferred.
- Two or more years of customer service experience preferred.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
Physical Demands
- Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- Constant walking up to distances of 500 feet during shift.
- Frequent stooping and reaching.
Work Environment
- Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment with occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
- Regular exposure to a smoke-filled environment.
- Work in close spaces with others.
- Moderate to high noise levels.
- Walk/stand on tile, mats, carpet, or cement.
Pay
USD $20.50 - USD $21.50 per hour. This is not a tipped position.
