Security Officer II, Public Safety & Security, Fulltime, First Shift

Patrol and Investigations

• Patrol property and facilities by foot, bike or patrol vehicle.
• Respond to alarm activation's and radio dispatched calls.
• Investigate and document all reports of criminal or unusual activity, crisis incidents and policy violations.
• Complete appropriate incident reports, as outlined in department policy.

Security and Safety

• Conduct inspections and document potential and real security, health and safety hazards.
• Enforce UC Health policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist in enforcing all Federal, State and Local laws as indicated in the Ohio Revised Code.
• Perform safety checks throughout the facilities, and grounds.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.

Support Services

• Locks/unlocks doors and gates.
• Handles lost and found property.
• Performs medical assists (patient restraints).
• Performs helicopter landing safety.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in criminal justice or security management, preferred.
• Graduation from Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) or other state certified training academy as a security or police officer, preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: Obtain the IAHSS security officer certification within 12 months of employment.
• Experience: Two years experience in law enforcement/public safety/security/military police, minimum required. IAHSS certified, preferred.
• Skills and Knowledge: Basic police training preferred, experience with multiple computer programs such as Microsoft office required.

• Must be able to act under stress, working in variety of weather and maintain moral standards.
