Patrol and Investigations
- Patrol property and facilities by foot, bike or patrol vehicle.
- Respond to alarm activation's and radio dispatched calls.
- Investigate and document all reports of criminal or unusual activity, crisis incidents and policy violations.
- Complete appropriate incident reports, as outlined in department policy.
Security and Safety
- Conduct inspections and document potential and real security, health and safety hazards.
- Enforce UC Health policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist in enforcing all Federal, State and Local laws as indicated in the Ohio Revised Code.
- Perform safety checks throughout the facilities, and grounds.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
Support Services
- Locks/unlocks doors and gates.
- Handles lost and found property.
- Performs medical assists (patient restraints).
- Performs helicopter landing safety.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in criminal justice or security management, preferred.
- Graduation from Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) or other state certified training academy as a security or police officer, preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Obtain the IAHSS security officer certification within 12 months of employment.
- Experience: Two years experience in law enforcement/public safety/security/military police, minimum required. IAHSS certified, preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Basic police training preferred, experience with multiple computer programs such as Microsoft office required.

- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to consider the attributes, special need and behaviors of the specific and highly diverse populations served by UC Health.
- Must be able to act under stress, working in variety of weather and maintain moral standards.
