Security Officer II (Armed)

Duties

• Conducting patrols of the buildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection of caregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties.
• Able to respond to an armed threat, and bring a safe resolution to the threat or situation.
• Conducting inspections of the facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions, which threaten life safety.
• Able to operate in a stressful environment where persons have experienced life-threatening injuries and death.
• Able to control persons experiencing behavior that is unacceptable via non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or other accepted practices dependent upon the circumstances.
• Participating in positive public relations activities by providing assistance with information, directions, and vehicle management.

Qualifications

• All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable.
• A High School Diploma, GED, or HiSET equivalent required.
• A minimum of two years college preferred, preferably in criminal justice, or Fire Safety, or Post Certified Police Academy preferred.
• A Minimum Class E chauffeurs license or ability to obtain a valid chauffeur’s driver’s license within 90 days of start date.
• Must obtain Heart Saver certification within 90 days of employment.
• 2004 Federal law Enforcement Act H.R. 218 for Carrying Concealed Firearm, or a Valid CCW Certification.
• Must complete the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic Security Officer Exam within the first 120 days of employment.
