About the role
This role is a Per Diem Security Officer position at Chilton Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the premises, prevent unauthorized access, respond to emergencies, and enforce hospital policies and procedures related to safety and security.
- Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to deter and detect criminal activity, suspicious behavior, and unauthorized access.
- Maintain security cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Secure entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent breaches or theft.
- Control pedestrian and vehicular traffic as needed.
- Respond promptly to disturbances, medical events, fire alarms, missing children, active shooter situations, and disaster/emergency situations.
- Verify the identity of visitors and vendors, enforce hospital policies and procedures regarding access to sensitive areas, issue and manage all Team Member badges, and manage access control using EZ Lobby and Rep Trex computer systems.
- Provide leadership during active shooter situations and assist Team Members, Patients, and Visitors during disasters or emergencies.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports for all security-related events and maintain logs of daily activities.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, law enforcement, and emergency services as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with AHECN distribution, IMC Computer, Mutualink, Victor Video System, and ONYX Panel.
- Complete FEMA ICS 100/200/700 courses and IS 700 course.
- Participate in RCT Training twice per month and maintain a valid RCT Certification.
- Participate in Emergency Management Decontamination Training.
- Stay updated on AH and Protection and Security Services Policies and Procedures.

Pay
Hourly wage or salary (or a range) will be confirmed at the time of offer.
Schedule
Various 8- or 12-hour shifts (including holidays), being available for call-back assignments, and attending and successfully completing all mandatory training.
