About the role

The Security Officer I position at VMFH Division Support Services is responsible for monitoring buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security. Key responsibilities include:

Monitoring the property by walking and driving around the premises.
Guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, and protecting against acts of violence.
Responding to emergency codes and implementing emergency procedures.
Operating security equipment and making determinations about access and security measures.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer I, you will:

Provide protection of property and mitigate criminal activity through visible deterrents.
Conduct proactive patrolling of VMFH buildings, parking structures, and grounds.
Identify and report security and building maintenance concerns.
Operate security equipment and respond to emergency codes.
Make determinations about access and security measures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

Six months of related experience in security, healthcare, or related law enforcement/military experience.
A valid driver's license.
Basic Life Support - CPR certification.

Qualifications

Qualifications for this position include:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation.
Knowledge of position limitations.
Ability to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner.

Pay

The posted compensation range for this position is $24.15 - $37.44 per hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Schedule

The schedule for this role is variable per diem, with shifts varying. The position does not require remote work.
