Position Summary
Guards, patrols, or monitors premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
Essential Functions
- Patrols industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensures security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Answers alarms and investigates disturbances.
- Maintains security of premises by monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
- Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Checks all vehicles and donation center doors, lift gates and roll-up doors to determine they are locked and secured.
- Notifies management immediately if any illegal activity is conducted during business hours.
- Safeguards company property, including donated goods, by reporting any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property to management immediately.
Skills & Abilities
- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Experience: 6 months to 1 year experience preferred.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS Office, e-mail and internet preferred.
Qualifications
- Guard Card issued by State of California and Valid Driver’s License.
- Proof of Insurance and Driving record Acceptable by Goodwill’s Insurance Company.
Benefits
- Amount of Travel Required: 50% to 75%
Pay
HOURLY RATE $19.30
Schedule
5 days per week, which may include weekends and evenings.
