Security Officer I

About the role

The Security Officer role involves protecting the property, assets, and people within an assigned site through patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and access points, and ensuring the safety and security of all individuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clear and effective communication with site and Company staff regarding security matters.
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents and take appropriate action.
• Provide excellent service by assisting visitors and employees with inquiries and concerns.
• Manage conflicts and disturbances in a calm and professional manner.
• Work together with law enforcement agencies as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to security functions and processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid driver's license
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
• Experience in a school setting a plus
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• First Aid and CPR certification desirable
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and perform physical tasks as needed
• Ability to work flexible hours, potentially including nights, weekends, and holidays

Desired Skills

• General computer knowledge and ability to adapt to software easily

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly to communicate with employees and/or other customers.
• Pushing/pulling/carrying and lifting may include up to 50 lbs.
• Normal vision or corrected by use of glasses and/or contacts for normal reading and viewing abilities.
