As a Security Officer Part Time in Ventura, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
How This Role Works
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, patient care areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directing individuals to appropriate areas while maintaining a courteous and professional presence.
- Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate observations, concerns, and/or service needs to appropriate personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- Must meet hospital vaccine requirements.
- Must be willing to work in a hospital morgue.
- Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hour
- Schedule: Daytime, Thursday, 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM
