About the role
As an Unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities in a behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disabilities care setting.
- Respond to incidents, behavioral health crises, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, respectful, trauma-informed, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, treatment areas, common spaces, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate site personnel.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with site staff, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents and daily activities.
Requirements
- Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Day shift: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday
