Security Officer Gated Community Northbrook

About the role

Guardian Security Services is seeking an unarmed security officer to work in a spacious, climate-controlled gatehouse in the Gated Community of Northbrook. The position offers a flexible schedule including Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Mondays through Wednesdays from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Thursdays through Sundays from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Guardian Security Services, a family-owned company, has been serving the Chicagoland area for over fifty years and prioritizes finding team members close to home.

Responsibilities

• Maintains practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions.
• Maintains access control procedures set by management.
• Utilizes access control systems, visitor management systems, and CCTV systems as needed.
• Documents and reports any property damage and special occurrences.
• Monitors CCTVs to guard against theft and trespassing.
• Responds to incidents and documents the event accurately.
• Greet all residents and/or visitors with a professional demeanor.
• Sign in and out all guests and vendors.
• Provide excellent Customer Service, Public Relations interactions, and have an impeccable image at all times.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills.
• Able to remain calm and composed in all situations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma/GED or military service record.
• Valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or willing to apply for one.
• 20-hour training certificate or complete within 30 days of employment.
• Complete a pre-employment screening process, including drug screening.
• Maintain an impeccable image and adhere to professional grooming standards.
• Mature demeanor, personality, and attitude.
• Strong customer service skills, public relations skills, and ability to interact well with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Basic computer knowledge necessary.
• Willingness to work in Access Control software programs.
• Maintain a working telephone at all times.
• Reliable means of transportation.
