Security Officer - Gate Guard

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location in Cloquet, MN, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to routine concerns with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control requirements, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, shipping and receiving zones, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and support delivery and vehicle traffic procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate reports and shift documentation related to patrols, incidents, access activity, and observed conditions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
