Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Security

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic educational location in Chicago, IL, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, grounds, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, credential verification, and reporting of unauthorized access or security-related concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance or security-related issues to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$19.50 / Hour

• Thursday: 11:30 PM - 03:30 AM
• Saturday: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sunday: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
