Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Support

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for customers and team members. You will communicate professionally, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and retail personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales areas, stockrooms, entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity, reporting suspicious behavior, policy concerns, hazards, and incidents according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and documenting events in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
• Support a welcoming retail environment by providing directions, assisting with customer inquiries, and maintaining professional communication with store personnel and visitors.

Requirements

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
