Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol - Grocery Store

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer at a grocery store in Salem, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a retail environment. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for customers and team members. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, professional communication, and using computer or tablet systems as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor for and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and potential loss-prevention concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner and document observations in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and support for store operations while helping to deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Monday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Sunday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
