Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access Support

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and assist visitors and staff with professionalism. You will communicate clearly, document observations using computer or tablet tools, and collaborate with Allied Universal teammates while demonstrating agility, reliability, innovation, care, teamwork, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, public inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas; verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures; and document visitor activity, incidents, and observations accurately.
• Maintain a professional presence while communicating clearly with facility personnel, visitors, and public agencies as needed.

Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
