Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Access Coordination

About the role
As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Santa Clara, CA, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control activities. You will deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and embraces innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, perimeter, entrances, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
