About the role
The Security Officer works under the general direction of the Security Manager, responsible for protecting persons and property, and enforcing all applicable policies, rules, and regulations at OakBend Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Observes behavioral health patients as assigned.
- Enforces all applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education may be considered.
- Previous experience in security; experience in hospital security preferred.
Qualifications
- Certified non-commissioned security officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety (Security Bureau) OR commissioned security officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety (Security Board).
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required within 60 days of employment.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI Certification) within 6 months of employment.
Skills
- Able to read and write English and follow oral and written instructions.
- Some knowledge of security and law enforcement practices.
- Ability to produce a concise, accurate, and well-written report.
- Ability to solve problems on an independent basis.
