Security Officer - Full Time Patrol

About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting an educational location in Ashburn, VA, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. You will contribute to a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a caring approach while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and innovative values.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out site-specific procedures, school policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with school procedures, directing visitors appropriately and reporting unauthorized access concerns.
- Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying designated school personnel and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities while maintaining professional communication with school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.

$18.87 / hour
