Security Officer Full Time Entry Screening

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location in Sparrows Point, MD, you will help manage site entry, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors. You will maintain a visible presence, support security-related procedures, and help deter incidents while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized personnel according to site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly communicate observations through required reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of industrial buildings, loading areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to identify security-related concerns and help deter unauthorized access.
• Follow established procedures for deliveries, contractor access, vehicle traffic, and restricted areas within a manufacturing and industrial location.

Requirements

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
