Security Officer Full Time Credentialing Operations

About the role
As a Security Officer Full Time Credentialing Operations in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain a secure environment. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with visitors and personnel, and support security-related operations through teamwork and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established channels as needed.
- Help to deter unauthorized access by observing activity at assigned entry points and reporting suspicious behavior, prohibited items, and policy violations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and the perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance or security-related concerns.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
