About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location in Burbank, CA, you will help maintain a secure, welcoming environment by verifying credentials, managing visitor and badge access, monitoring entry points, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and use computer or tablet systems to support daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access credentials, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to site requirements.
- Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating security-related concerns according to established procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of manufacturing and industrial areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Document observations, incidents, and access-control activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Requirements
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
