Security Officer - Full Time

Summary

Horizon House is actively seeking an experienced community-oriented and dedicated Security Officer. This customer service-driven opportunity involves communicating with and responding to the needs of residents and guests, while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

What You'll Do

• Patrol the exterior and interior of the campus to ensure the property is safe and secure.
• Respond, make contact, and address suspicious circumstances and individuals using non-violent crisis intervention methods to de-escalate disruptive individuals.
• Answer phones, screen calls, take messages, and transfer incoming calls to the appropriate department or resident.
• Greet visitors and guests, and assist residents, vendors, and visitors coming into the building.
• Prepare a daily security report (hourly log) and report security concerns or activity.
• Respond to requests for service and emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Conduct safety inspections or drills including fire drills, exterior lighting inspections, and perimeter safety inspections. Report the outcomes to enhance the safety of the community.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• One (1) year of security experience or a structured security training program.
• One (1) year of customer service experience.
• Guard card preferred.
• Experience or training in de-escalation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
