Security Officer for Public Transit

About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transportation location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicles, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and public areas, report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
• Assist with directing passengers and visitors, providing information, and supporting a professional, welcoming environment while following applicable procedures.

Requirements

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
